Does Fibrous Mechanites heal?
Two of my colonists have this disease, and after googling it on the wiki it says while there isn't a cure that it will heal in time. But it's been an in game month. Does it just take a long time?

Yeah, eventually it goes away. It is quite useful if your pawns can deal with the pain. Or if they are masochists.

It takes between 15 and 30 days for it to go away.

I think you have to reach some hidden number in tend quality every time you tend to the disease. That is, the quality percentage of each tending keeps adding up until you hit that number and it goes away. That means the best way to get rid of it quickly is to make sure you have the best medicine possible and the best doctor do the tending.

I'm cool with having the ups and downs from these mechanites. But one of my pawns is not able to move anymore since having them. Why is that? And can I do anything about that?

Most likely the mechanites are putting them over their pain threshold. All you can do is treat it and hope that reduces the pain enough that they can function.

No, that's how Gut Worms and Muscle Parasites work. Fibrous and Sensory Mechanites don't work that way. They simply last 15-30 days. Instead, their severity increases over time, and if high enough it will cause 60% pain instead of 20% pain. Tending can slow or reverse this progress, but has no impact on how long it lasts.

Ah yes, wimps get knocked out by even a moderate amount of pain. Smokeleaf can help reduce the pain too.

Yep, it's that. Fibrous mechanites causes 20% pain even at minimum severity, which is enough to make wimps lie writhing on the ground for the next couple months.

Careful with that. You can actually kill a pawn with smokeleaf if it drops their consciousness low enough (under 10%). It's probably the rarest way for a pawn to die, but it can happen.
