Since it's not about getting off the planet, what then?
But the real fun in this game is about making your own story that you actively partecipate in with your pawns.
Build a successfull thriving colony, and then what?
Can you go into detail in what kinds of stories have happened to you if you have the time?
No two runs should be the same, as much as many try to force it to be. The RPG part the colonists are just actors in the story, you do pick what to do, and try to make a colony work but goal is to either survive or fail. Some of the most memorable games I have are of my colonists dying in the first years, in fact hard ♥♥♥♥ sticks out more then the runs where I prosper boringly for 20 in game years.
Like you try to make a colony work and tons of mods can let you hand pick the start, once its started its storyteller in charge and you are there for the ride. They throw opertinities or problems at you. Like to get new people unless you using some crazy ass mods, it has to present you with ways to do it. And its all random I had one run where I did the new start naked and alone start, and I had WILD PEOPLE show up like animials.
Naked wild humans, and I could tame them if I had enough animial handling skill I didn't or go old school beat them with clubs and make a prison and force them to love me till they join lol. Instead I just let them prosper, before long I had kid you not 2 (5 in total) herds of wild people outside my little cave base I was carving out with just one guy stealing my food from the feilds and I let them I wanted them to stay and be healthy. Eventually I got a refugee quest from Randome Randy my storyteller I picked and they had skills to tame the wild people for me lol.
But that has never happend in my 500 hours of gameplay before and not since lol
Like no two runs should be the same at least if you use Random Randy :P
Is DLC reccommended?
And since i started alone naked I was only one in my religion so I had to wait for him to randomly on his own try to convert 3 of the colonists I got to my religion to get all the cool perks going and by then I was doing good I thought but wasn't ready for a big fight yet, had some animials get pissed while hunting and attack back, then a raider hit, then another raider and I lost my good people and started a new save calling that one complete in my book.
I mean I would like them to last longer but honestly i really into this new start naked and alone starts, its both hard and not as raider value is based on you colony value and when you start with nothing not even clothes your worthless like my first raiders had like a wood club and I beat them with a log as improvised weapon equiped on my guy and refugee who I took in for x amount of days for random reward. Like I spent my time trying to find food, then haul it back to my stockpile then work on anything else. its very intersting instead of just sitting back and going, "ok you priorty 1 min, you work these feilds, ok that is done now how do I want to make the first couple rooms for my people, come on people pick up the pace if you don't want that slept in the rain mood debuff again tonight!"
And till you get 3 of your religion you can't get the moral guidance social role, once you get that they will use social skills to do pep talks, and try to convert by comand isntead of just rng when they are talking at dinner table or playing horeshoes. Granted once you get going you can do rituals, and the religion you ahve to set up before you start the game. You can set all the rules and its writen in stone after that. Like are dead people gross and give your followers a debuff, can you eat them with out feeling bad about it. Is slaver ok, how do you feel about trees?
Things like that.
Look on the r/rimworld subreddit. Half the posts are people just recounting the wacky-ass things that have happened in their games.
Im unabe to open reddit.
