I built a lavish throne room, but the bestower didn't go in it, he went to the dining room instead. What??? Why didn't he go to the throne room? So now I got an unimpressive ceremony.

Because yeoman doesn't need a throne room and I'm guessing you didn't assign the throne to them? Actually I think even if you assigned the throne to them it wouldn't matter because they don't use a throne at that rank.

the quest even states that it is supposed to take place in the throne room, otherwise I wouldn't have built that monstrosity so soon

so I reloaded, blocked the door to the dining room, and made it so the only rooms available were my storage and throne room. The putz went into the storage room. Is he an idiot?

Just right click on bestower and click "do ceremony".

Same question, the quest tells you to build a throne room for them but one isnt usable or required? Great writing/scripting there.

It doesn't tell you to build a throne room. It says:

"The bestower will only give a title if any throneroom requirements are satisfied."

It says the same thing for every rank, but if the conditions for the title aren't satisfied you get a warning on the quest. Yeoman has no throneroom requirement, so it's satisfied without one. The yeoman/freeholder ceremony usually takes place in your main gathering area, the room with a table that also defaults as the party/wedding room.

Just ran into this. It's kinda stupid that, even though there is no requirement, he appears to refuse to use a throneroom at that level, to the point of doing it outside. Means I literally cannot have a good ceremony because it seems to pick the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ places it can find. Won't matter long term, but still kinda stupid considering every other level takes place in a throne room, and it makes 0 sense.

Put a party spot in the throneroom. For yeoman ceremony, the bestower uses a gathering spot like a table since throneroom isn't a requirement for that title. Make sure any other tables aren't set as gathering spots.
