Banishing a colonist without getting negative debuffs?
Is that possible? For instance, if one of them lose his mind and go on a food binge, can I "rightfully" banish him without negative consequences?

if his guilty of something yes, like kill a colonist or a colonist animal
You can arrest them then let them escape by giving them a path off the map. Remove a wall or hold some doors open, they will just walk off the map and you will get no mood penalty. You risk injury if they resist arrest and it takes quite a bit more micromanagement than just clicking banish and dealing with the trivial -3 mood for a few days.
yeah I never understand that.

I like playing the '' good guy '' sometimes so i just rescue people that I dont really want to recruit and heal them up and save them but they mostly end up joining and I need to just banish them anyway.

I mean, I can still use character editor to delete the debuff but its just immersion breaking to do that
You know, that's an interesting thought.

I wonder if the Ideology DLC will let us set beliefs on banishment, or if it doesn't have that originally, allow making a mod that does.
If you dont mind using dev mod you can click "pass to world" on the colonist you'd like to banish. It doesn't kill them, it just removes them from your colony without negative effects.
