Is there a mod to fix pawns getting stuck pruning Gauranlen trees?
I am getting sick of them pruning until they are at a major break just because they won't stop to eat, play or sleep. Is there a mod to fix this?

I haven't seen that happen, so I would have to say find the mod causing it and remove it.

First thought is Vanilla Traits Expanded, the workaholic trait I think it's called.

Not a mod causing the problem. I only just started using mods a few days ago, and have been playing for about a month without mods before that. The problem was there before the mods.

I've had the trees in 3 different colonies now, nobody has ever gotten "stuck" pruning them. They certainly work hard at first when the connection is real low, but they go take care of their needs when they get down to like 20% or so.

I find that drafting them sometimes fixes the issue as I'll have a colonist staying up into the dead of night pruning when everyone else is asleep.

This is really weird because in my playthroughs, modded and vanilla, this didn't happen at all. And I had several trees.

There was a similar post by another one though who claimed the same as you did, so I think there is something causing the pawns to prune until break, but clearly not always.

What's your work priorities and the bio of the pawn?

Cutting is set to 1 for people bonded to trees. and I have it set that for 2 hours before bed time they have break time, but still they will often work until they break not stopping at break or bed time. They only seem to stop on their own if they reach the max connection I set for them, otherwise I have to draft them just so they will eat or got to bed.

No mods here, I noticed that, if you set Plant Cut to 1 for the respective colonist, that they'll keep pruning the tree until Rest, Food and Recreation is quite low.
I never had a risk of break though because the mood is quite high due to the passion for the work + incredible beautiful environment. But both my pruners start to neglect all three Food, Rest and Recreation (unless the schedule switches to Sleep, at which point they get something to eat and go to bed).

Maybe there's something off with the prioritization of pruning the Gauranlen tree. But so far it's been a minor issue.

That actually could be a thing. I use Fluffys work Tab with 9 priorities and only firefighting and Doctoring are priority 1 for most pawns. Thus if the priority 1 is bugged for pruning I would not notice it. Current run has no trees so I can't test, but you guys could try increasing all priorities by 1 (up to 4) just so the order is roughly the same, but now cutting is not priority 1 anymore and see how this changes things.

Would be actually good if at least we'd know where exactly the bug comes from.

What I observed is, when the priority is set to 2, that they don't overdo it. But that might be due to other tasks becoming available (haven't tested with everything on 3 except Plant Cut on 2). I have around 150 colonists (including refugees) currently, so there's a lot of idle time and Plant Cut on 2 suffices for the colonists to attend to the Gaulanren tree. They start to neglect it tho when, as mentioned, other tasks become available that are higher in priority (from left to right) and on 2. So that is normal.

When I play next I'll try to have everything on 3 but Plant Cut (exception being the first 4 tasks (Firefighting, etc) on 1) and see if they still overdo it.

If you put plant cut at 2, bed rest at 1, and everything else at 3, maybe? That way they prioritize bed rest over plant cut, but plant cut over everything else?

I have plant cut on 1 on my current colony, going with tree connection and blindness, where they use trees for everything. If I get a new tree up and their connection is real low, they will work at the tree until their needs drop to like 20% and then go eat/sleep/recreate just fine like I mentioned before. I have them on the default anything/sleep schedule and they maintain that just fine, sometimes they are up a little late at night but no more so than my researcher.

Bed rest is only resting to heal from injuries.

Simple make him a prone worksheet. 4h work, than two hours relaxing, rest work again, 1-2 relaxing hours before sleep

That's what I thought, but you never know with mods ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
