RimWorld

RimWorld

Mods aren't loading
I've been using mods the past few days, I launch the game today and see that all of my mods aren't loading, I am still subscribed to them on the workshop. It seems like Rimworld isn't detecting them.

Edit: It seems that the mods folder in the RimWorld folder is completely empty. I assume thats where the mods are downloaded too, so I don't know why they have been deleted and wont redownload when resubscribed too.

Edit from May 30th 2024: Glad to know this thread is still helping people, even if my own problem has long been fixed.

I am having the same problem, subscribed to mods and they don't get downloaded when I start the game. Mods folder stays empty. I made sure to unsubscribe and subscribe again, but without success. No mods :( using Beta build though, but in the past that wasn't a problem.

that mods folder is for manually placing downloaded mods in, workshop saves them somewhere else so its not an issue the mod folder is empty. this happens from time to time with workshop mods, steam sometimes forgets how to work properly. exit steam completely, not just the X at the top right and relaunch it and it should be fine. if not, restart your computer.

found the solution in another thread.

Delete file "appworkshop_294100.acf" from "...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop" folder.
Restart steam.

Now mods are showing up in game again.

P.S. brian_va: you are right, the mods folder is still empty, but the above fixes the mod subscription issues

Yeah, the Workshop puts mods in Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/294100

I actually tried this yesterday and it did not fix anything. Maybe the issue just involves me restarting my computer? Im not on the OS that rimworld is on right now so I can not check right now.

I know this is a necro, but anyone who comes after me: removing the acf nor restarting the computer did not help me. What DID help, was to sub to a new, previously unsubbed mod in the workshop, that refreshed the link and all the other mods started downloading. Maybe this helps you too.

I'm necroing too because for me there is no 294100 file at all.
