Unless you mean like searching storage. A mod for that would be cool.

This. And the machining bench after all the weapon crafting stuffs, I think.
I don't know of a mod, but I basically stick to a few tried and true item crafts and then... that's it. I set up inventory orders for things like clothing to be sure they're in stock, then set up an order for each weapon/armor type and manually order those or adjust those as needed. So, basically, I have one, maybe two, bits of rolling the slider and pecking at the item lists per game and "done."
In larger colonies, I'll set up a standard commodities bench, like for standard inventoried clothing, and have another for special orders.
For clothing material, I set that as soon as I can and hardly ever change it. Everything looks good in Devilstrand Red, right?
It's been complained about before. It's not terrible, but I don't know of a solution other that requiring a new type of advanced bench. I don't know that the current UI for the crafting benches can really be "touched deeply" like to set up catagories/tiers and the like.
I prefer the Normal small Bars over that for sure...
Its not a bad mod tho just very cluttered in my game...
