Combat Extended & Thrumbo Horns
In the standard combat system you can use thrumbo horns as weapons and they are usually considered pretty effective. However I now noticed that I can't used them as a weapon in the Combat Extended mod.

Is there any recipe that would allow me to utilize the horn (for a weapon maybe?) or an addition CE mod that has something like this?

Im not sure if theres a mod for it, however if you want a weapon that deals same damage as a thrumbo horn make a plasteel long sword its same as a poor plasteel long sword as damage. And as far as i've seen in CE thrumbo horns are just trading items.

Why are you using melee in CE to begin with?
Get a gun and be done with any and all tribal combats, then work towards high AP weapons and be done with every other encounter.

Well I assume you don't know how fun it is with melee animations and MO, but yea melee sucks in the end game

Melee is really powerful in CE what are you talking about? You just need to use it correctly.

I'm not sure why you decided to go onto graveyard to dig up my nearly 2 1/2 year old post. I honestly no longer care about thrumbo horns.

Anyone that considers melee weapons useless in CE has no idea what they are talking about. Plasma- and monoswords are awesome weapons and they are extremely effective against mechs and other enemies when you can get them into choke points.

I even had to install run and gun to make them less effective...

CE is a silly mod.

Even pawns with low shooting skill will rarely miss their targets so there is really no reason to use anything other than guns.

The combat in the game doesn't need to be modded at all. It works really well within the premise of the game concept.
