RimWorld

Save game deleted
Hello everyone, I accidentally deleted my save game. Does anyone know a way to recover it?

Well, if you are still in the loaded save game, just save the game again.
If not, then I wouldn't know of a way because Steam cloud synchronizes after you quit the game, in which case the save would be deleted in the cloud as well.

Hm... I thought that would be the case :/ Too bad. There isn't a possibility to recover a seed or any information from said save file, is there?

Check %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Saves and see if it's there as a .rws.old file. If it is (should be, I think), then you can just remove the .old from the end and you should be good.

Sadly I don't have one with the ".old file"

Check your "Recycle Bin." You could also use something like "Recuva" to see if you can undelete it. Though, there's no guarantee it will be useable.

https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva

I've used it plenty of times in the past. It's good. Clean. Etc. But, if worried, scan it with an AV program and Windows security.

This, unfortunatley, does not work. I've also tried it with another recovery software, which however corrupts the file and makes it completely unusable.

Thanks to all for your responses though. It was worth a try :)
