I can't trade corn/potatoes/rice as a caravan?
Okay the problem is that i want to form a caravan and trade my overproduced food items to make some money.
The neighboring tribes can buy corn / rice / potatoes etc from me as it seems.
When i form a caravan i can't choose those items for some reason and i can't figure out why.

I even tried to store them in my normal storage depot cause these are the only ones i can choose as it seems but that did not work either.

Maybe a kind soul can help me out and tell me what i have to do to bring them my delicious veggies.

Edit: Sorry should have mentioned just in case it is important, i have no mods installed.

I see no profit in caravan trekking to trade with other factions, unless it was for a specific valuable quest item.
Veggies are hardly worth trading in any case. If you are over producing, then reduce production and start producing profitable goods, such as artwork or animals.
Even then, sell to visiting traders rather than waste time going out to them.
It's a different story once you have transport pods though.

Do you have Royalty/Ideology? Are your veggies in a room with a forbidden door? You ought to be able to carry whatever you want up to your weight limit, I can't think of a good reason why it isn't working for you.

@grapplehoeker:
Yeah i thought of reducing my fields afterwards, but since the trade destination was just 1,2 days away i just wanted to sell it quickly.
before asking here i even thought like fu~~ it i make rations out of it but it´s just so much and i have even full fields outside ready to harvest since winter is gone now.

@Heretic:
Ah no, yeah could have mentioned that earlier. I just have the core game. Started playing a few days ago. My veggies are in a seperate cooled room behind the kitchen with the door open for everyone. My goods are allowed too. And with some of my colonist i can still carry like 150kg worth of items to trade.

Could it be that i need animals to carry something like that?...nah, would not make any sense i guess.

Food items are listed in the tab where you pick food for your caravan to eat.

Oh and @grapplehoeker i know there are several traders like for any goods ingame etc but none of them buys stuff other then weapons, armor, components and clothing. they seem completly uninterested in my jade and stuff to eat. are those traders so rare or have i just bad luck?

@Stariali
But there i can't click anywhere to tell them they shall take more then they need to eat on the way? Or am i missing something there?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yes. There's an option for the game to automatically select what is needed for the caravan to get to its location and back. Disable that option.

@Stariali
Oh my god...Thank you. It was so simple. I did not recognize that i could click that green hook to disable it.

Thanks you all for your help.
