Ideology ritual that say you will discover ancient complex doesn't actually reveal any after the ritual is done
One of the ritual reward that you can choose is discovery of nearby ancient complex if your ritual is fun or unforgettable, but it didn't work at all in my case as I didn't see any ancient complex that got discovered after the ritual.

Was there already a complex shown on the map? If so, it won't reveal another one.

Did you have any ancient complex on your map or a possible one in one of your quests (the relict quest like has that) before doing the ritual? If so, the game has a warning for that usually.

I just did a ritual half an hour ago and got said complex reveal.

There is one that is part of the subquest of a relic, but even then other ancient complex quest can still pop up after that one.

I'll try again later after I finish that relic subquest.

You can randomly get them, yes, but the ritual has a note that says a new one won't be revealed since there is already one available on your map.

huh must have missed that, but I will try again later after that relic subquest as I mentioned.

Good luck! For what it's worth, it's worked successfully for me after completing the relic one and any others that have been available.

In the last patch it was a red text at the bottom of the ritual UI stating that you won't get a new one because one is already revealed (though it doesn't really state the relic quest interaction, which is weird).

Yea thx my previous playthrough didn't have any ritual that have ancient complex discovery so I'm trying it on the current one.

But from what I've read ancient complex loot is just awful though.

I think they really need to make it more obvious and includes the relic one as well because I thought it was bugged at first.

You can get luciferium and glitteworld meds etc from them. It's just kinda random, though I would say that I got a nice stack of lucferium pretty much all of the time and the threats in there are not comparable to raid stuff.

Yeah, that one is really weird. It is blocked even though you have no complex on the map. The existence of the quest is enough to block it, even if you have not accepted the quest yet. Maybe just make a bug report of this, since it is really not that apparent.

Well I have no use for luciferium since I just rely on biosculptor pod and healer mech serum.

And you can buy glitterworld meds from traders as well.

I think they should put those unique items from quest such as the infinite chemreactor as potential loot.

That is a rather high reward for something with little risk that is usually really close spawning too. Additionally you can get stuff like insect meat or prisoners too. Keep in mind that you also get "all camp loot". You can get so much steel and even cloth out of those most of the time and I don' think I ever had a complex spawn that was more than a few hours away.

They can make the risk higher such as putting more dangerous traps or mechanoids such as the one in ancient shrine I suppose.

Also steel is pretty much to heavy to carry in large quantity for caravan, but you can just spam transport pods to send them to your base, however using deep drill is probably still the best one for steel.
