Question about Archonexus ending
I am nearing the point where I'll be ready to send my 5 best colonists off to a new world to complete the first step of the archonexus quest. I've been hoarding skilltrainers and bionics to make the fateful five as op as possible before making the jump, but I have a few questions about what else I can take with me.

I'm assuming the colonists take the clothes they wear and the weapon they carry, but are any other carried items considered? Can I take extra provisions and materials with me?

Secondly, does the research tree reset? With all the mods I have installed the research tree is *very* big, and it'd suck to have to go through it all again.

You had better use those hoarded trainers and bionic parts then, because all your pawns can take with them is what they can carry, namely food and medicine, as well as the clothes armour they wear and equipped weapons.
Strike that... Tynan has changed it in the last update o.O

Yes, it does for now, but Tynan may change that later.

The patchnotes said that you can now carry some items with you though, since some people really needed that luciferium. Is your info up to date of the latest patch?

You're referring to this:

Well there ya go ;) The last I'd heard, he was considering doing that.
Sigh... after two completed Archonexus runs, he finally adds that in and I'm now on a fluid ideo run LOL
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yikes. Might need to remove the random research mod then...

Thanks for the answers guys!

I did find this mod. I've already gotten the quest, so no knowing if the research thing will work, but at least it'll be there for my next run colony.

I haven’t done it, but saw the streamer Adam vs. everything do it. You can take five animals and whatever they can carry, caravan style. He made a caravan before he accepted to figure out what he could take. Keep in mind that you’ll probably have moderate to high wealth on the new tile because of the value of the pawns and their gear and leader-type roles will have high expectations.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... the personal wealth and even stockpiles of resources comes nowhere close to the building wealth that adds to the total wealth of a colony.
For example, here is the first base before I traded it in on my first Archonexus run @400k total wealth. I've completed two runs now BTW ;) As you can see, building wealth exceeds item and animal wealth by far!

So, actually, your five pawns and their animals and whatever equipment they take with them while not being insignificant, will still only be relatively low compared to what it will be once you have a fully completed base built up.
The initial raids/events when you arrive at the new base location and during the build will therefore will be no problem to handle. Just make sure you develop your pawns skills and equip them with decent gears and body parts before the first of the three relocations.

That is simply your play style. My graph looks different depending on what I focus on in that game (base building, ranching, lots of tribal people etc) and I think you are severely underestimating how much some people horde. Just judging by the threads, people do stuff like keeping 100k silver around.

It is very much dependent on playstyle. As is, I expect my 5 colonists to be worth at least 10k each, possibly closer to 20k, due to high tech armor, weapons, and body augmentation. When the replacement parts you put into colonists range from 500-1500 in value a piece, it adds up quickly.

What does that have to do with the rest of my post in as far as it relates to the OP? Please don't cherry pick out of context.
Your hordes of tribals will not be going onwards to the next colony when you only take 5 pawns with you and no matter how much ranching you do, you're still only taking 5 animals and 1 relic. As for hoarding silver, what of it? You can only take what you can carry with you lol.

It was simply a comment to that part of your comment. Not meant to say "you will have the same threat level as before". I am sorry if I made it sound like I was trying to disperse your whole post.

They could be worth a lot more and still be nowhere close to being as valuable as your building wealth.
In my last Archonexus run, my 5 pawns, animals and relic were valued at around 250k when they arrived at each new location and before any building work was started.
Ordinarily, one might think that is 'moderate to high' wealth, but I was doubling that at least once the base was complete and I was ready to move on to the next location and that means the personal wealth was always less than half of the total wealth of the completed base.
However you play, when your total wealth is 500k+, then that 250k in personal wealth is really not that much ;)
I know you may trade in for the map part at 350k, but it is more likely to be a lot more than that each time, due to a variety of reasons, not least the fact that you have to develop relations with enemy factions until they are allies in order to be able to trade the map part... and that can take quite some time ;)
