Winter caravan
I rescued an incapacitated refugee but he can barely walk due to his injuries and has no warm clothes. We are in a boreal forest in the winter and have to walk four days to get back to the colony. How do I keep him warm on the way back? Do we just have to wait out the winter where we are or can I make campfires or something while moving on a caravan?

If you have no wait of fast travel or sending stuff to the caravan, you can swap around clothing when hypothermia shows up of if you have enough total insulation, you can puzzle clothing around until everybody is safe. If not, you can swap around your warm clothing when someone gets into the danger zone.

I would bunker up on that map for a few days. Do some hunting for food and leather, try crafting some warmer clothes while they heal up. Then make the trip when it's shorter and you are better prepared.

Shuffling clothes around on the caravan tab would probably also work though, depending on how cold it is.

Yea I think you will find if you try to just risk it, it won't end that well for you. I sent a pawn in a pod to a silver location and got trapped there for a couple days because lightning lit up my chemfuel to fly back. I actually discovered the map a bit and built a nice outpost, healed up, cooked food etc. I do always bring some psychite tea wherever I travel.

Do you have a Drop Pod launcher? You could send in emergency supplies. Otherwise, hole up and warm up. Heal and feed him if you can. (Or, send a rescue expedition if you have the pawns/resources. Bring a pack animal to carry some extra supplies/clothing/weaps.)

When I take missions, which I usually don't... I'll bring extras like wood to build a fire and eve butcher table if I feel like being fancy, bandages, medicine, drugs, even some extra clothing and a weapon. And food enough to cover any unexpected delays, of course.

Find shelter, get him in a medical sleeping spot, bandage/tend, look for herbs if you have no other medicine, get a campfire going. Scrounge for berries or hunt if you have to. You can use a crafting spot to create some tribalwear if he isn't wearing anything better:

You can craft meals at a campfire, too, if needed:
