That's not there(paradox) strategy though. For two reasons.
1, Most paradox mods suck. There bad.
2. Paradox games regularly got on big sales.
Why doesn't rimworld go on sale? It's not strategy. It's arrogance.

That is not a sale.
And, for the record? A lot of brick-and-mortar stores, especially department stores, use a "sale" as little more than a scam. You go to Macy's, you see that neat widget for sale at 50% off, you think "what a deal" and you buy that widget for a hundred bucks, never realizing that it was only worth forty bucks and that the "ON SALE" sign conveniently left out the fact that the "sale" was merely after a huge markup. Stores do this ALL the TIME.
Where the hell is Consumer Reports when----oh, that's right. They don't do video games.
Meanwhile, some random person sees weird transactions and gets their bank to reverse the charge. The bank demands the money back from the place of purchase, because fraudulent transaction. The devs lose the money from that purchase and essentially get their game keys stolen (because revoking those keys is a PR nightmare & not worth the risk), in addition to taking a financial hit from any extra transfer/reversal fees applied by the bank - resulting in the dev getting negative dollars from the sale.
While it would be nice to believe that someone bought the game in Argentina or the Ukraine, that probably ain't the case. :-/
(It is worth noting that even Rimworld's website registers your copy of the game directly to your Steam account, instead of offering a Steam key for you to use. There are reasons for this.)
