Bug: Quest said I can rescue related pawn, isn't related to my colonists
A quest promised me that I can rescue my brother, but the pawn I rescued doesn't seem to be related to my colonist. I screenshotted the quest and the social tab: https://i.imgur.com/dkt5OE2.png

Is this a known bug? Shouldn't it say so in the Social tab that he is my colonist's brother? I am using only a few QOL Mods like Smart Speed, Tech Advancing, Common sense, realistic rooms, auto blight cut and colony manager.

Thanks, that would help. Normally I try not to be too "cheaty" with mods because that is for me mostly a one way street once I started. I made an official bug report.

Be careful, pawns with too many family relations are prone to mental breaks down the road if a family member dies.

One of mine lost their brother a while ago and still has a -20 mood penalty because of it.
So far, only hit minor break risk with him, but all it will take is some other bad incident to push him over the edge. >.<

There brother was a raider that attacked my base though....so...I don't regret him dieing one bit!

Since 1.2 world pawn cleanup has been a bit aggressive and willing to delete binding pawns on occasion. Not sure why. Relationships like brother/sister aren't stored, as far as family goes the game only stores parents and then dynamically fills out the family tree in the game. So in this case a world pawn existed that was the parent of Lumi and Slick at the time the quest was generated, but at some point that world pawn was "cleaned up" and completely removed from your save, breaking that link. This never used to happen in like 1.1 and earlier that I remember, a world pawn family member might be killed but they wouldn't be deleted from existence. I'm sure there is some unintended interaction happening here, but I'm not sure how much of it is a bug.

I've only seen this happen once in my game, it was in 1.2, it was a pawn from an ancient danger that was a parent of two of my colonists, as soon as that pawn walked off the map they were deleted and my colonists were no long siblings. I had been doing some ****ery on my end though and assumed it was my fault. I've seen a handful of threads since that suggests it might be a legit issue though.

Thanks for the name of the mod!

That was very informative, since I played again with 1.3 (I skipped 1.2) I had three weird incidents like this. One more where people weren't related who should be (but didn't screenshot it, thought I remembered wrong) and in my other save I had a Man in Black coming to the rescue who was introduced the second he got on the map as the lover of one of my pawns (not "new lovers", just "he is the lover").

Not sure if the latter is intended gameplay, but I would prefer it if the game would be consistent about who the pawns are related to / in love with. I would find a lost lover or brother in the social tab that you might encounter much more satisfying than randomly meeting a pawn and the game is "ah btw. this guy is in a relationship with your pawn".
