Items on the colony map itself is based on another stat and is usually 75 items (one stack) but can be exceeded e.g. butcher an elephant and the bill tells them to take to a stockpile then they will carry all the meat which is usually 2-3 stacks (140 items or more).
Like, if you just go grab a pile of clothes you'll be able to grab a few pounds of it maybe, due to its bulk, but if you pack stuff up properly you can carry a lot more than that.
No. They can technically carry a virtually unlimited number of items and separate stacks. At the very least, even in ridiculous situations you will not hit any kind of limit even when they are hauling hundreds of separate item stacks.
When at a location (like, in the map that your base is in) most items have a limit of 75 to carry at once, or a full stack, whichever is smaller. On the world map the stuff they carry can be in any amount, in any combination, so long as the total mass (including their weapon and clothing) is below 35kg.
