Combining these together, once could make a pretty big boom...
There is purposefully not a "trigger" mechanic in Rimworld the player can use to "build" a One-Button "boom" kind of device other than a few special items. One also can't automate any triggers other than what's supplied in IED/Trap and "doors" opening on their own.
On Rimatomics - I'd report your bug to the mod's developer. "Thick Roof" tiles (Overhead Mountain) can't be destroyed are are notably wonky when mods try to effect them. The mod developer needs to change what tiles their 'splosion effects. One reason, IMO, is that mechanics like Bug Infestations depend on these tiles being persistent in the player's map. They're meant to be permanent and unalterable. (Any "remove overhead mountain thick roof tile" mods or anything that could possibly effect those tiles should always be suspicious and wonkiness should always be expected, IMO. :))
this in combination with well placed warheads should give you a very real setup of a self destruction system. with out the remote tech you'd have to activly sacrifice one pawn by attacking some warheads and then triggering a chain reaction with other nearby explosives.
This is basically how I learned pyromaniac travelling merchants can have breakdowns and start setting things on fire without you being able to do ♥♥♥♥, unless of course you want a confrontation with a caravan X times the colonists you have, inside your base.
After setting 10 things on fire, mofo decided he had to ignite an antigrain warhead on the main stockpile. Multiple times.
That is messed up. This game has some crazy stuff happen.
I had a warhead in the middle of the base well defended by turrets and guards. Well SOMEBODY decided to THROW a temper tantrum and got past my defenses and punched the warhead. Lets just say I quickly got thrown to the world map and everything was black.
I reloaded the game right before it happen and paused the game to find the person. Clicked on him and saw where it said going to attack the warhead. I ordered my guard to shoot him. Then i had the guard rescue and and take him to the infirmary.
