Caravans: bug or have I missed something? [bug probably; solved]
OKay, so I sent two of my pawns and a muffalo across the desert to pick up a baggie. Thing was, the baggie disappeared while my caravan was halfway there and as such, they stopped in situ and are now "waiting".

And waiting. And waiting. For me to send them somewhere, apparently.

I've tried, I swear.

I cannot get them to go home, or alternately, go to another baggie nearby and then home. Or move from that spot in any way. I have checked the wiki and forums. I've tried starting a new caravan (but that just meant the others left at home went for a walk before going home ;) ), and using the waypoints function to send them home. But the waypoints don't seem to "stick"; the next time I check the world screen, the caravan is still there, waiting for me send them somewhere.

Have I missed a step? Or is this a bug? Or do I need to just presume that when they run out of food in ~12 days, half my pawns are gone forever, only to have screeds written about what went wrong to that expedition a la Burke and Wills for the next 100 years?

Help!

To be clear, have you clicked on your caravan on the world map and simply right clicked a destination for them to go? I know you said you tried to move them but just want to double check. That should be all you need to do, I've never seen a caravan get stuck and be unresponsive to new commands unless there was some sort of health issue with the caravan members.

If it's bugged there are multiple workarounds to fix it. The "gameplay" version would be to increase your colony limit in the game settings and have that caravan "settle" on the tile they are at, then pack them up into a new caravan and have them go home, and abandon that new settlement later. The easier dev mode option would be to turn on dev mode, select the caravan, then right click your colony and use the send instantly option or whatever it is called.

Yes, that is exactly what I have done. I just checked their health and they're all good there, so it's not that (thank you; I would never have thought to look). I wonder if it's just a glitch since their first destination disappeared.

I'll try one (or both) of your fixes. Thank you!

if something bugged out. you could try settling the tile they're on then sending them out from there.
And i missed that someone already gave that advice. whoops

All good. Thank you.

The settle/return/settle workaround worked. :)
