Labs
Usually I combine all my production into a large workspace, but is it worth doing that with my research labs as well? Since they benefit from sterile environments, I figured they should have a dedicated space. Advice?

Research laboratories do not benefit from a sterile environment. But when many people are in the same room and stay there for a long time, it is always good for the relationships between them. Even when a fight breaks out - a cleansing thunderstorm.

And since research is usually a long process several researchers in one room quickly form lovers if the bio requirements fit, of course.

So somehow it would make sense to put all the tables together to make a party... :steamhappy:

Well, the research table benefits from cleanliness, and the sterile tiles allows it to reach the optimal cleanliness. Thank you for the advice.

Straight from the wiki: "...the cleanliness of the room the bench is in comes into play, granting modifiers ranging from x0.75 for very dirty rooms to x1.09 for sterile."

If you have the resources, go for it. I usually put my research bench into a "main" workspace and later close it in with walls and put down steel floors when I can afford it.

Eventually, when the colony is rich, I'll put my research benches in my hospital with silver tiles to get that cleanliness stat and save some space too.

Once I get Advanced Research Tables unlocked I typically make a 12x6 sterile tile room to put 4 of them in along with a multianalyzer that can service all 4 and space for a heater, lamp, and some art (and sometimes some beer barrels)
