Crashing/Not Responding
This is a total shot in the dark but wondering if anyone has experienced this. All the threads I find about it are in regards to the old 32 bit version and CPU usage going too high.

Basically within half an in-game day, my game will stop responding and I have to kill the process and restart the game. My CPU isn't what I believe to be the issue (but I could be wrong, most talk of hardware is above my head), as it's only ever using 1.4 gigs of RAM tops when this happens. (I've got 8 gigs total to work with, have read issues arise when it gets to about 3.3 ~ 3.4 range.)

I've read it could be pathing issues, but I just... have no idea how to check for that. There isn't the traditional error log that comes up if I have dev mode turned on; everything just halts. Does anyone have any ideas? It's driving me nuts. I'm not even that far in, I've played for half an in game year at this point, I've never had issues like this. The odd freeze & death here and there but never constant.

The devmode console should tell you.

Failing that, head over to
DISK\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\RimWorld\RimWorldWin64_Data
and take a look at Output_log

That's the odd thing, the console isn't coming up when it crashes. It's freezing I suppose, rather than crashing, but it's to the same end.

Looking through the output log doesn't seem to say much (though that's probably just me; I've been trying to learn to read it this past day this issue has been going on so I'm novice at it) but there's a few lines of:

(Filename: C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/runtime/DebugBindings.gen.cpp Line: 51)

repeating throughout it. From what I can guess though, that's just mod compiling?

The very last line just seems to show that the game loaded successfully; showing how many milliseconds it takes to load all the assets in and such.

The one line that mentions an error (and that I do see in game, too), is from the mod Gwen's Gone Mental Traits buuuut disabling that mod doesn't see the issue fixed. It's perplexing.

XML error:
doesn't correspond to any field in type TraitDegreeData. Context:

{PAWN_nameDef} is lost in their own head most of the time, and doesn't pay much attention to their surroundings. They aren't moved by great beauty, don't take the time to feel comfortable in their own bed, or notice the growing piles of dirt and puddles of blood and vomit around them.
oblivious<statOffsets />

That's the line I get. The majority of that text is the trait description from the mod & in game, but I'm not sure what not corresponding to a field type is. I'll keep digging.

It's the RAM cause you run alot of mods alot of memory gets stored up until the game freezes. Increase your ram memory or reduce your mods. 8 GB ram isn't good if you running 150+ mods.

Oh I'm nowhere in the ballpark of 150 luckily. About 35 - a good 8 of them are just hair, but maybe that makes a difference? I used to run far more with no issues like this, I've cut down a lot since coming back to the game; hadn't played since 1.0 hit. Still, looking at what I can cut in future, but I really have my heart set on saving this particular game in progress if I can, and I know removal of mods when in progress can screw saves up. I regret picking permadeath this time around haha.

Editing to add I realize I even cut quite a few out between this and a previous playthrough just earlier this week, in which I had no crashing or issues. I really don't get it.

Was 1.0 in your previous? I read that 1.0 takes more ram resources then B19/B18

Ahhhh that is interesting. I've played 3 different saves this week; the first two didn't cause problems, this one is. But before this week, I hadn't played since I think B18. That's interesting to note, thank you for the information. I was looking into the RAM thing anyway, I'm just thrown off by why it was fine earlier this week. It's super strange.

It could also be that on the map there is more 'objects' that causes more Memory on your PC to be used that's why it freezes, anyway freeze is normally a memory issue for PCs.
