Stonecutter's table / Crafting skill bug
I'm having my crafting-skill colonist refine rock chunks into stone blocks, but she's not gaining skill in 'crafting' by doing it. How come? Must be a bug.

That's normal. Cutting chunks into blocks is a bit of a menial task for which you don't gain skills. The same goes for rolling joints.

It used to level up crafting skill, but rolling joints still raises skill, although it is cooking instead of crafting
are there more tasks that dont increase level?

Constructing/deconstructing a roof, if you can count it as a task.

Aside from hauling and cleaning, you don't get xp from feeding patients/prisoners, releasing or executing prisoner neither gives xp, aimlessly wandering does not give xp and I think that burning/smelting things also does not give xp

Crafting spot and mass produce bows on low skill crafters. You can just burn them after.

I don’t think you get skill points making medicine, either.

There used to be a mod that gave you a small amount of crafting skill for stone cutting. Don’t know if it’s been updated.

Stone cutting causes two issues: in the early game you want to put your crafter on it but it slows their development. In the late game your high level crafters lose points if they’re cutting stone. If you need a mood buff though it’s helpful.

There you go.

I wonder if the original skill increase lead to crafters leveling up too quickly.

It didn't. Before the skill increase was removed from vanilla it was a trivial gain, taking years to hit skill level 10 from it. That mod restores the same exp gain I believe, I use it and it's just as slow as I remember it being. Main reason I use it is I don't like creating "junk" items to destroy/sell just to level the skill, so I stick my low level crafters on stonecutting and eventually they reach the point where they can do something with better exp like craft components.

If I recall correctly, pawns do gain xp by making (most) drugs and medicine, but it is not crafting xp, but int

Except smokeleaf joints, which give (and use) cooking.
Also drug crafting uses int, not crafting. Which makes it really irritating that drug crafting is in the same category as unskilled crafting which doesn't have anything to do with int/cooking. So you either need to set a minimum int/cooking level on the bill or get a mod that separates out drug crafting's work priority, so that the drugs aren't made stupidly slowly.

Oh I thought I saw "intellectual" increasing while making medicine :(
