Chicken Harvesting Worth It?
I keep at least 4 alpacas 4 transport and selling wool, or muffalo or dromdarys whatever i can get my hands on first and depending on location. Now i get chickens and i hate them cause they take up so much room the animal screen and other such things but i heard that they are worth it the eggs they make. I need 2 know what i should be feeding them to make a profit, like only hay?

I have all my animals in one barn and it is a profit but i put my kibble and hay together due to well spacing issues would it be better to put my chickens in their own pen with only hay and my transport animal in the other with kibble and hay?

The breeding of chickens (also turkeys and boomrats) can quickly get out of hand and cause heavy slowdown on a lot of computers and you're feeding them fine with hay but they're going to take a LOT of food once the population gets going. Keep production growing as high as pop grows and slaughter regularly
Don't let them eat you out of house, home and CPU

With the mod colony manager it is a real good way to have plenty of meat ... jus set it to butcher adult animals and to keep x male and female.

If you're after protein without too many animals, try to get cows. They produce the most milk. But you can only get them from trade. Keep them pregnant at all times and you can earn more meat and leather from butchering their babies.

Chickens are ok but they are micromanagement hell. I believe they lay one egg per day, so try to have 2 egg-laying hens per colonist and no more.
