A question about drop pods
I have a ton of hours in this game- yet I've never figured out how to make a group of drop pods launch at the same time. I highlight them all and and press "Select group launch" or whatever, and only one of them launch, i tried furiously clicking on the "Select next".
Look, I just want to be able to drop pod people across the planet so i can peacefully have my psychopath burn entire rooms of prisoners without my colonists being all "Boo hoo, we just burned 30 'innocent' prisoners, y'know, the ones that SHOT OFF Kat's legs, then dragged him 50 yards across the map while bleeing out to kidnap him... Boo hoo."
So uhh... Launch a pod group, how do i do it?

Not actually sure you can in the base game. I had the same issue a couple of days ago, did the same thing as you, selecting all and clicking launch. Seems like a reasonable thing to assume it should do, but apparently not.

There's a mod that improves drop pods and makes them reusable iirc, might be worth looking at that, it might also fix this glaring issue.

Don't they all have to be touching or something like that to launch at once?

They were touching. If its not in the base game, i dont understand why theres a "Launch group" option, or the "Next in group" one. Like this[prntscr.com]

You need to select them all and load them at the same time. They are given a Launch Group at time of loading, then, when you select all from the same group and launch, they will leave at the same time.
And they must be connected to be able to load as a launch group.

Thank you! I never noticed this. This saves a lot of clicking- I would some times click too fast and accidently send a colonist to some random location on the world map.
Thanks for the info

I loaded individually because I didn't want my pawns stuck inside the pods for ages while the rest were loaded. Nice there's an option for it, but it seems a bit limited. Thanks.

You really shouldn't have to worry about that. Colonists should load themselves last, and they can survive inside for a couple of days no problem.
And with a bit of forward planning, that is, making the stockpile for things they'll be taking close to the drop pods, they won't take long to load at all.

The launchers have to be touching, which basically means you can only launch as groups for the launchers that were built in a vertical formation.

I also use this mod to have the other colonists help load faster. Otherwise, I think it was whichever colonist is going into a pod or if there were many pods, just the ones going will help load. With this mod for launchers and another for caravans, now other colonist staying behind will also help load.
