Making beer

When I read description of hops it says used to make beer, when I try make a NPC prioritise making beer it says it needs wort. What is wort and how do I get it? (Beta 18

turn hops into wort at brewery, put wort into barrel to ferment and turn into beer

should look like a dark brown butrcher table with some green stuff on it

Yep, architect, production, brewery. Construct that, make a room nearby with casks, and make sure the room is sealed and has heater/coolers depending on the biome you're in. If you don't keep the temperature of the fermenting beer stable (7-30C or so iirc) it'll ruin and waste the entire batch, so make sure to keep an eye on it.

Found it thx, also do you know if there is a optimal temperature or is anyone between 7-30c the same for fermentation.

just inbetween should be good
think below 7 it slows down and at 0 its wasted
but that might be mods doing that
just keep them in the rec room for that dwarven feel, it should be 21c in there anyway
barrel should have ideal and neccesary temperatures on it when selected

yeah barrels should be kept in a well controled temprature area. i actually just built my distillery building on my new file. got about 172 barrels.

now to make enough wort to fill them and then have enough left over to get enough from my next few harvests to keep it going forever.
