Solar flare/battery bug.
Sometimes when I get solar flares all my equipment turns off despite having a reserve of battery power.... It's super frustrating to lose everything in my fridge because the game can't seem to figure out even though my solar panels are off I should still be getting power from my batteries.....

I never had this issue prior to this current seed. Anyone else get this bug or know what causes it? 2nd time now.

It's not a bug, that's how the solar flare works. All electronics get disrupted/disabled.

Solar flares in this game kinda bug me. I mean I can see why they'd disrupt solar power, but wood/chem-powered generators and wind generators should still produce power while geothermal can be plausible depending on how it's implemented. Anything high tech with a lot of digital components ought to get trashed, but analog electrical equipment ought to be at least somewhat resistant to the issue. Likewise electronics housed underneath mountains and simple electrical circuits like lights should still function fine based on my understanding, albeit limited, of such matters.

Solar flares don't really have much direct effect on electronics and certainly wouldn't cause any disruptions of solar power. What happens is the magnetic fields being created interact with long electrical lines creating surges of power and burning out the lines or overloading the transformers they are connected to. Being deep underground wouldn't really matter as the effect on the planet's magnetic field goes quite deep. I think the logic of the game is everything is being shut off to prevent damage from possible surges, even though realistically such a small power grid wouldn't be at risk during any sort of solar event that didn't also cook every living creature on the surface.

They don't disrupt power, they disrupt all electrical signals outright.
The most damaging solar flare we've had in reality is the 1859 Carrington event. Back then there were extensive telegraph lines all over the "civilised" world. All communications stopped working, some lines caught fire, people were electrocuted and there were aurora's so bright it turned night into day. They actually found it was possible to transmit if they unplugged their equipment from a power source. The atmosphere was so electrically charged that it allowed their equipment to work. Howerver the equipment at the other end also had to be unplugged otherwise it would still surge.
