There is a mod that does change these odds a bit and make them a bit more palatable for some players:

- Is it trolling or real variables of equation?
Also, glad to raise awareness of the options out there.
Two weeks ago, I wanted to see if it's worth assigning handicapped crafters, and arranged contest between healthy one and onehanded one. Both were lvl 20 and both produced same quality on average.
Congrats on having an opinion. Keeping your best crafter assigned, comfortable, in a good mood and uninterrupted is better advice than just "do whatever its a roll chance". But hey, I'm sure your star crafters make marvelous rifles when they're walking around in a daze because their backs hurt and the lazy abrasive in the colony keeps walking by and beating their ass because they're a hard worker, putting them in the hospital.
Thanks for pointing your opinion out though. I think its great that you have an opinion that means nothing.
Assuming, that mood affects quality roll because it's realistic, doesn't make it true. Darkness affects blind pawns in this game.
If someone want to be sure, it's easy to roll an experiment in dev mode. Up untill results come up, I know health conditions do not affect Quality, and I don't, really, care if mood does, there are other reasons to keep mood up.
There's no need. I never made the claim nor disputed the information on the wiki, just facetiously poking at a facetious poke. Mood and comfort is to keep them producing at their best so you get more roll chances. The wiki breaks down the roll chances.
My old man was quite the philospher before the Alzheimer's made him think he'd been kidnapped and imprisoned in a secret government labratory.
Mine was just an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Hell, a pr0stitute taught me how to drive.
Not exactly a large trial, but 4 out of 4 is definitely interesting. Sure it COULD be just a coincidence, but it does make me suspect that there are things contributing to quality that aren't listed in the Wiki. When I really need something to be best-possible quality, I try to make sure they are in a good mood at the moment the task is completed. I also try to make sure they don't get interrupted.
