Armchairs, dinner chairs, and stools offer no benefit to work speed. They just provide comfort to whoever is using them and prevent negative thoughts.

dang that sucks i saw someone on reddit saying the same thing but he also said ''WELL IT MAKES THEM COMFORTABLE SO IT ACTUALLY DOES INCREASE SPEED'' thx for the quick answer

Well, overall you might say it sort of "increases speed", since the pawn won't have to recreate as often and is less at risk for breaks.

Comfort is only used to determine if a colonist will have an uncomfortable thought, comfortable thought, or no thought at all. You can argue that an unhappy colonist is more likely to have a mental break, and a colonist on a sad wander has a work efficiency of 0% since they're not working at all. But outside of that, the work speed formulas don't include comfort at all.

However, if you have a Tortured Artist it may be worthwhile to make them unhappy all the time to get inspirations to let you make awesome stuff.
So long as they aren't working in darkness and have the tool cabinets that is all you can really do without modifying the pawn.

Bionics will help to a degree but most of the speed will come from the colonist's crafting skill.

I find armchairs at workstations extremely helpful for the mood buff. At higher difficulties every mood buff is welcome.

It's all related to mood. Everyone spoke of the direct comfort benefit with sitting in it but there's also a beauty aspect to it as well. Not much but it could be just enough to push a slightly impressive room into being an impressive one.

The two main factors for work speed are lighting and temperature. Place a lamp nearby and keep it at a comfortable temperature. Tool cabinets give a slight boost. Outside of that you need either a boosting trait or a work related inspiration. Nothing else should factor in.
