Infested Ship Chunks

How do I break them open/interact with them? I can't deconstruct like a normal chunk and I have no explosives to lob at them.

Fire at them with a drafted colonist. Carefull, enemies will comme out when you do.

Draft a colonist and have them melee or shoot the chunk. Ideally bring friends to deal with the friendly insects that come out for a game of tag and a bite to eat.

I do not advise ignoring the chunks until you have 30+ laying on the map and then have a hunter accidental hit a chunk while hunting rabbits. Luckily a mechanoid drop raid came to "assist" and nine colonists lost their lives.
