Intense pain
For some reason one of my people are in intense pain constantly, according to their needs, but in the health tab it says they are fine. I am very confused

Does the Health tab show any old injuries on the right? Scars?

Apparently those produce 5 pain each.

If you provide a screenshot, it may help people provide an answer

He has 2 scars, but his pain level is only at 24%

I'd say those two scars are the source of his problem then.

Try this: save the game, use the Dev tools to remove his scars, and see if his pain vanishes....

How do you use the dev tools? Sorry, I'm new.

Step one, go into the Options menu.

Step two, enable "Development Mode" at bottom center.

Step three (after you've loaded up a game you want to edit) press the / key or click "Open debug actions menu" at top center. Advance warning: the resulting menu is very NOT intuitive. It's hard to figure out what some of the commands do, and it's hard to figure out which command does what you want to do (there's a text box at top left where you can type in searches to try and find the right commands). "Destroy" and "kill" in the bottom left are obvious. "Add hediff" (in the center towards the top) is where you can give pawns traits such as the flu or addiction to alcohol. Currently, THERE IS NO COMMAND TO REMOVE TRAITS. So, if you want to REMOVE alcohol addiction, you're outta luck uless you edit the save file. Just below "add hediff" is "heal random injury" which heals a random scratch, cut, bite, gunshot wound, or anything else that shows up in the right-hand side of a pawn's Health menu. Further to the right in the Dev menu, "try place near thing" and "try place direct thing" are commands that create objects such as a stack of pork chops or granite blocks.

More simply: clicking "God Mode" at top center switches you to God Mode, where you can build stuff instantly and for free.

Pretty please: SAVE YOUR GAME BEFORE SCREWING AROUND WITH THIS STUFF!

And have fun. :steamhappy:

A little confused on how to add the comand to a certain person? When I click the "Heal random injury" it just attaches the words to my cursor and i can't figure out how to attach it anyone...

At that point, you're in "heal" mode, and you just click on any pawn to heal a random injury. You can click click click on stuff to heal lots of injuries. Then right-click or hit ESC to exit heal mode.

Sometimes it doesn't seem to work. Usually I pause the game before healing a pawn, and I think the game needs to be unpaused before it will update the pawn's Health readout.

Edit: quick note about the "Destroy" tool. That tool usually destroys EVERYTHING in the tile except floors. If you destroy a pawn that's standing in a doorway, the door will be destroyed as well. If the pawn is in a grass tile, the pawn and the grass will both be destroyed and the ground will be turned into bare soil or rock or whatever the base terrain is.

It is a fearsome power you now wield. Use it wisely.
