Don't Have Peg Leg
Under Operations for my colonists there is no option for peg leg installation. There is however wooden foot installation. Anyone know why this is? (NO mods installed)

You know that you have to produce the peg leg first?

Ummm, if that's true, that's new. They've always just wanted a log and medicine in the medical recipe.

Don't forget to make sure their medical tend quality is set to the level of medicine you have. Don't think they let you do it with none/herbal any more. Check the bill.

A peg leg is worse than a wooden foot, if only the foot needs replacing, you wont get the leg option.

Yup, the patient needs a missing leg + 1 wooden log ;)

Yes I have enough available wood. From what I know, and playing along side a friend you do not have to make the peg leg first before it will show up in the operation list. ALSO yes I have the colonist set to allowing medicine. I think it's becuase the colonist has both there legs, as I was under the impression that becuase I could install a wood foot (even though they already have feet) that I could also just install a peg leg (regardless of whether or not they have both legs)

Very unusual. Hmm, well, on to more possibilities, the whole "If you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable... yada yada" thing is in play now...

The doc is able to reach the patient, there's no zone restrictions in effect? I don't think you get the [No Path] message for this stuff. Oh, and the wood or medicine itself are also accessible to both? :)

psyra, agreeing to all that. No zone restrictions, wood is available, meds, etc. I just doesn't show up in the operation list. Also I had an issue with another game where I couldn't install a prosthetic leg in place of a person's "destroyed" leg. Could not see what the issue was (again no mods, and I have enough experience in game to know about checking the basics.) My assumprtion was that the leg actually had to be cut off completely to be replace with a prosthetic one, which is kinda dumb that I don't have an option to amputate limbs normally.

Amputate the leg. It doesn't show up as an operation to install peg leg because they already have a leg there. I know it is counterintuitive because of the hot swappable foot thing. I wish it wasn't that way.

btw first time i installed a peg leg i was surprised to find that I didnt have to craft one. Ol' doctor just went out to the wood pile and picked up a single random log and that was Comareiro or whoever's new leg

Then your game is borked.
If you have wooden foot option there is no reason for there to be peg leg installation as well since they require same things.
If anything it would be other way around, having peg leg but not wooden foot option.
All this talk above about amputation, missing, crafting are things added through mods.
Edit: Amputation is available in vanilla when your pawn have infected leg/arm but that's not relevant to giving them a peg leg.

You don't need to separately amputate and then install peg legs in a second operation...

This is one operation. I've installed a prosthetic leg on my second doctor, because the infection was too strong and I did NOT have to amputate it first.

The limb DOES NOT need to be missing

Heh, no the leg does not need to be missing before an operation as a prerequisite to install a peg leg...
but it will as a consequence of the operation become 'missing' ;)
The only prerequisite is 1 log of wood.

Peg legs can be crafted in a Crafting Spot. Make one and you should be able to install it. It looks like having to craft it is from Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering mod.
