How to grow in a hydroponics basic
No matter which colonist i select none of them will grow in the basin. They can all grow but none of them interact with it. The room the basins are in is in the negatives and is dark

the hydro basin needs power and a grow lamp that is on to be able to plant in said basin.

Also, a hydroponics basin should not be in negative tempatures, it will freeze and nothing can grow in them.

Pawns can't sow plants if the temperature is too low. They can sow in the dark, but the plants won't grow unless there is light. Supposedly sunlamps in A17 will automatically turn off when plants don't need light so that should make it simpler to manage.

Regarding sunlamps, in the meantime a handy trick some people have mentioned is connecting sun lamps solely to solar collectors (I know they probably aren't called that, but the exact name escapes me right now I'm afraid). Let solar panels outside collect energy, feed it to the sun lamps inside, and when night falls and the plants need their rest, the sun lamps turn off as well because there's no more power coming in.

In the new unstable build that is not a concern. Sun lamps take about twice the energy but automatically turn on/off with the resting plants cycle. Works out to about the same energy use as leaving them running all night. So now it is probably best just to hook them up to your regular grid. Using solar is still a good thing as well, as you will get the extra energy boost during the time the sunlamps are running. Seems to balance out nicely.

The sunlamps should have a 1.25x higher power needed not a 2x
