Dentures?
So i have a colonist who is incapacitated due to a ruined jaw, but i can't seem to operate on him.

Whenever i try, it always says "need materials" but i have no idea what these materials are - and googling doesn't seem to help either.

He can still eat, so he wont die - but he's bedridden and kinda useless!

Help is appreciated.

Edit : ♥♥♥♥♥ sake, i took him prisoner previously (because of a psycotic break) and that demoted his medical tier. Lmao

Lucy if all else fails

Dentures require wood, as I recall. And operating of course requires medicine - make sure the patient is set to be allowed some if they aren't already.

Lucy is luciferium, I assume. Don't use it though, its not worth it. Did you actually craft a denture? You need to craft one before you can install it.

I have a lot of mods, so I can't guarantee that the way I do it isn't a mod. But, go to simple prosthetic bench and look at the bills. One of them should be for dentures.

odds are you got to luck out and find some sort of jaw implant from space traders. Until such time that pawn is probably best put in crytosleep...

This is only true if you have one of the mods for additional craftable prosthetics. Ordinarily dentures (and peg legs) are simply built on the spot. Incidentally, according to the def, all you need for a normal denture operation is the medicine (which is odd, but okay).

As long as you have any of the three kinds of medicine you should be fine - if you're running the base game.

Ah, ok. Thanks. So, it is a mod. Anyway, OP, is it a colonist or a prisoner you are trying to operate on? You have to make sure they are able to use the medicine you have, on their medical tab. For example, if you only have glitterworld medicine and they only have normal medicine or below on their medical tab, the doc can't use the glitterworld medicine on them. Also, you need more than 1, I think. Operations take more than 1 medicine of whichever type you are using.

The only mod i had orignally was extended preperation - I have loads of wood and medicine kicking around.

Will just try a mod, thanks for the responses!

I'm pretty sure you don't need materials for dentures in the base game. You do need unforbidden medicine though. That's usually the problem.

That or the person's medical tab makes the doc unable to use the medicine you do have. For example, I think prisoners automatically only have herbal medicine as usable. You have to manually change it to use better meds than that.

Lucy will heal anything as long as it's not destroyed completely. Even brain damage catch is it's a drug you can never quit. If you quit luciferium you die.

1 dose every 6.7 days I believe

Just say no to drugs. :) Seriously though, if you do use it, just be aware of how hard it can be to keep the luciferium on hand.
