Won't tailor!?
I have a tailoring workbench and heaps of animal hide but I can't get my guys to tailor. When I try to "prioritze" tailoring task I get "Cannot prioritize, no material". Aren't hides material?

I get that too. I think it may be a bug. Try looking at the range at which the tailoring bench allows materials from, and set it to the max. If that doesnt work,
One solution for now is to set up a small stockpile with just hides next to the workbench, and that should work. Also, you might need more of one specific type of hide, rather than many different kinds in small amounts.

Make sure that the bill is set to allow the appropriate type(s) of leather (and can take leather in the first place - tuques can't, and some modded clothes may not be able to). Make sure that the leather isn't forbidden and is in a zone accessable to the colonist, if you've set up any allowed zones.

you may have lots of hide but it still might not be enough for the job, you need a certain amount of 1 kind of hide for whichever piece of clothing you wish to tailor, also check what is allowed for your bills witht he sliders at the top of the the table info screen and also with-in the bills make sure you all appropiate materials/skills etc that are listed on the right side of the bill screen.

Yes but having 5 rat, 7 dog, 4 deer and so on still is not enough for a lets say parka, you need 1 kind of hides to make whatever you are trying to make.
