Research tabs limited?
Like many of you, I have a lot of mods that have their own crafting tables, gears, etc. Well, when I go to research I've been noticing that some of the mods are not showing up in the research tabs. I'm curious if that is because I've reached the limit or some other unknown explanation as to why some of those mods are not showing up.

The mods are active, verified, and as far as I know there isn't any incompatibilities with one another. Most of the mods are from Extended Vanilla and the Chicken mod user who makes a ton of military mods/Doom. I see one of them, but the latest editions are not showing up.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Even if a mod has its own crafting table, gear and whatnot, it doesn't necessarily follow it has its own research tab.

Have you verified there's no extra research in your main tab, or that the normal kinds of research don't unlock your mod stuff? Or, alternately, have you verified that the mods you're missing there have a research tab of their own?

Not all of those mods adds new researches.
Number of tabs are not limited. Once I'm started a scenario with over 400 mods (never again), and there were so many research tabs, it was unclickable.

Yea, I noticed some of that for the past hour or so. I tried some other mods for making research easier to read and that was more confusing lol. I haven't played since since version 19 and slightly beginning of launch. I guess some standard features were added/moved/merged in the process as well.

The only problem and I know it's my problem is that I keep getting white boxes with red "?" in the middle of them. I know the mods work and I used the auto sorter but nothing to my avail. Is there a way to check to see what is working and what isn't? I mean, 400 mods is a lot (I have more so on XCOM2 >.>)

And thanks for your replies @olympe and @martindirt

Have you tried this mod? It works with everything I load into the game, and is laid out quite nicely. I don't have a "ton" of mods adding new research, but I've never had an issue with anything being left out.

the auto-sorter is no magic tool that can fix modpacks no matter the size. its use is actually very limited because the modders have to code in that has to go before mods and will usually only cover their own mods if at all.
you gotta sort the mods yourself to get rid of potential errors by deciding on how you want to structure your mods (usually by grouping mods that affect the same kind of content).

from what i understand so far i take it that you're using the vanilla research menu instead of the ones provided by research pal or MintMenus. at least for research pal i know that it gives you a searchbar you can use to find specific unlocks.

edit: as Mrin already posted researchpal i might add: its no miracle tool either as it puts all researchtabs you have in the vanilla menu into one giant techtree which can make it easily blow up in size on a pack size like yours

Alright, I'll try that out on both accounts. Thank you @Mringasa and @Hoki. Lot's of information and sorting to deal with, lol!
