RimWorld

RimWorld

Any Chance this game will provide a demo?
I dont mind spending 30 on a game, but I would like to get to actually play a few minutes.

Factorio, the videos dont justify that game, but its insanely fun. Orcs must die is another. Pretty much any game with a demo, I end up buying.

I dont use the steam refund policy unless its a game that just doesnt work, so I dont want to abuse that to get a "free trial"

Is there a demo on their main website or elsewhere? I know some of these newer games have demos from before steam release, just want to see if this is something I would like.

Thanks for the info in advance.

I'm pretty sure there's no demo.

You can check on Youtube for gameplay.

K thanks, reason I asked is, like I mentioned about factorio. If I went off videos only, I would have never bought factorio. Videos did no justice.

Or like Conan Exiles. I bought it cause videos looked good. Conan is boring, but the videos sold me. Factorio looked boring, but the demo was a blast, just am very catious with EA games these days, Ill hold off for now. Thanks for the info.

I was a bit sceptical at first due to the price... but my friend got me hooked on it and I can't put it down... Totally worth the money. Do you have a friend that could possibly stream it for you? That way you can ask questions and they can show you right away... :)

Or, if your friend is a good enough friend and you trust one another, do the family share. You will have access to thier game library and can try it out without any strings attatched.

Buy it with the intent to "Abuse the return policy". Reason being is becasue I can guarentee you that you will not be dissatisfied. If you are this interested in it and you havnt even played it yet, Oh boy...

No need to be a ♥♥♥♥. I asked IF there was one IF.. IF. IF. Learn to read. I never asked them to make one. I merely stated factual info as to how demos help to influence the purchase.

And yeah I dont want to abuse the refund policy, because, inc ase you didnt know, that refund is still gonna cost somebody and the refund if you abuse it can be revoked, so no, I wont use a refund system to try a game. That is clear abuse and not what the system was designed for, even if some use it for that. I will not.

Videos do not always do a game justice, as I made the case for factorio and Conan.

A mod can lock this thread, I got my answer, thanks

If you liked factorio you'll probably like rim world

You're right YouTube is pretty useless in my opinion there's a big difference between watching and playing

Rim world has excellent depth the first ten hours will go quickly and you will get a decent feel for it. At the very least you will get a few laughs and your money's worth

Don't call me an a-hole please. I'm just pointing out that your logic makes no sense and I didn't name-call you either, so you're definitely the one in the wrong here.

I never called you an a hole. I said no need to be a "Richard". I felt your answer was a bit rude.

Ill most likely end up buying the game sometime after steam sale. I know the game doesnt go on sale and I am fine with that, I was just looking to try a demo. Thanks again all and sorry if I offended you @ tukkek

Not sure how the refund would cost anyone anything. I don't think Steam gives a dev their cut right away, I think they hold the money for a few days/weeks before dumping it in, probably as a lump sum instead of transaction by transaction, but I could be wrong.

Also, if Steam has come out and said it's ok to get refunds if you buy the game and a day later it goes on sale, I don't think this would be considered an abuse. They make a point of saying "within 2 hours/2 weeks for any reason" (emphasis mine).

If you don't wanna, you don't wanna, I'm just curious why you think that.

Isnt the refund only good for an hour of gametime? I thought it didn't work after that. With rimworld, you would have just settled on your second colonist by the time that hour ticked by.
Kaoz421 Jun 30, 2017 @ 10:17pm
You will like the game based off the games youve put hours into. You will easily sink 100 plus hours into it.

2 hours of playtime and 2 weeks of ownership max for an automated, no questions asked refund.

Beyond that you've got to put in a manual ticket with Steam support and plead your case.
