How to get steam to recognise my cracked game instead of overwriting all of it?
Yo guys, just bought royalty after having played around with it in a cracked version. Was just wondering if there was a way to transfer the files over to the Steam directory so that it won't reinstall the game? Obviously there'll be a few mismatches and a little bit of updating to do, but is there any way to save on me having to download it all again? I've tried moving the files over to my Steam Rimworld directory but no luck -_-

Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Data and place the Royalty folder in there, and allow it to download, Steam will not redownload any files you already have and will overwrite the cracked ones.

Also the entire game is only a few hundred MB total, the DLC is only about 40MB and some change. Unless you're on dial-up that's nothing.

This. If you've got a half-decent connection, should take you five minutes tops.
