Cow question
So, here's my dilemma: I'm constantly having to dispose of baby calves and it hurts my heart, but I'm afraid to off my bulls for fear of halting milk production. Does anyone know if heifers have to be pregnant in order to produce milk? Also, can bulls produce milk?
Thank you!

That sounds like a oversight. Quick someone make a mod to correct this glaring mistake! Bulls must become milkable!

It is worth noting that male boomalopes can be "milked" for chemfuel though.

Everyone knows that fuel nozzles are gender neutral paraphernalia.

Keep your bulls separate with just one cow with them. When a new calf is born let it live and slaughter the oldest cow/bull depending on the calf's sex.

Quick suggestion: Do not have more than 1 bulls. Second bulls (even babies) are to be slaughtered as they only eat food. You would say the second bull will mate with other cows but the first bull was already doing that. Rimworld is hars don't hesitate.

Probably best to have 2 in case one expires for reasons that are definitely not your fault.

Better to keep at least two bulls in case one or more of them die. The extras don't only eat food, they produce meat and leather when you let them grow and slaughter the old ones instead of the calves. Of course if you get a lot of bulls it's good to reduce the number but keeping just one is inviting potential trouble.

Unless said bull is old enough that there is a chance that it will die without sucessor - in that case it may be beneficial to leave one male calf to replace old bull
