How does neural heat work?

My royal colonist has a neural heat limit of 2, which makes him to go into psychic shock every time he casts anything. What determines this limit and is there a way to increase it?

It's based on their psychic sensitivity and psychic level. Higher level psychics have more base heat, which is directly multiplied by psychic sensitivity. I'm guessing your pawn is practically psychically deaf for it to be that low. Equip prestige power armor or eltex clothing, use an eltex staff, install a psychic sensitizer, and/or level up their psychic ability to increase their heat.

Damn.. He's not psy deaf but he was perma-wearing a nanosuit helmet, which gives -95% sensitivity. Thanks a lot! He has 40 limit now xD
