Try a few test attempts to see if it's doable.
When assaulting, bring a mixed force or overwhelming firepower(12+ rifles). I try to bring a few melee and then hide them around a corner while my shooters peek around from a dozen or so tiles back. That way my melee will engage their charging melee some distance from my gunners and allow them to change targets. Always prioratize on assults. You need to choose who to shoot. I usually focus fire guys with the best guns, and allow my longswordmen to slice thru their melee.
After the battle, go into the building with a pawn and lay down sleeping spots to turn into medical spots. Your people will be wounded, patch them up and if you can, capture the survivors and take them back with you.
Other then that, im loving it. I set up far from thier building and just mow them down as they charge. The ai base generation is cool.
