RimWorld

Baroness, does nothing.
So I have a pawn that just received the title of Baroness. Ever since, she will only sit in the throne room and meditate. She will do absolutely nothing else except eat, sleep, use the restroom/shower, and meditate. Only if I order to do something else will she do any other activity.

Is this how it was supposed to be?

As you can see, all 5 of my nobles work for 4 hours per day.
They work as crafter/smiths, wardens, traders, healers, artists, builders, researchers.
They all have the dignified and artistic meditation pre-requisites and so their 8 hours per day meditation is spent on each of their thrones and sometimes staring at a statue.
Yes, that's how it's supposed to be. Always check the nobility details before choosing which pawn to elevate in rank. That means check to see what line of work they'll be able to do and what type of meditation they'll be able to perform.

How do you check for that stuff? No information of anything that even remotely resembles the stuff you're talking about is in any of the tabs.

Schedule tab, which is the thing he is showing. You can assign your colonists to do certain things at certain hours of the day. It defaults to "Sleep" and "Anything", but you can change that up however you like. This is also how you get multiple shifts going, which can be useful for a lot of reasons.

It is a powerful tab. If you are new, important systems to learn, in rough order of importance is Work Tab>Advanced Bill Settings>Scheduling>Restrictions (Food, Drug, Clothing and Area restrictions).

I am familiar with the tab. I only just now saw the meditation tab. Was not there before when I used to play the game. None of my colonists are assigned meditation time. Yet my only colonist with a title spends literally all day doing nothing but meditation.

Even just now designated specific times for her to meditate. She still just sits and meditates. That is it. Nothing else. No matter how things are prioritized for her she just sits there and meditates.

Is she jealous or greedy or abrasive? If so, she will refuse to do any work that is below her status and this actually is shown as a hint in the game

Oh? Okay then, I'll show you with pictures ;)
None of my 5 nobles in my current colony is a baroness yet, so I'll use Lumi from the previous colony. She was a Countess.
Here's how I know what work she can do,

Buddy, I have almost 600 hours on this game. I know how to use the work tabs and to schedule specific activities for certain times of day. Something else is going on. Is there some sort of setting you are supposed to change after they become Baroness?

She is the dignified artistic meditation type. I have designated specific hours for meditation. She still will ONLY sit and meditate.

Up until she became Baroness, she functioned perfectly normally like any other one of my Pawns.

You stated that you weren't aware of how I could check the details I provided and so I showed you how, but no matter...
The meditation category for the work schedule is new, but it shouldn't be hard for you to allocate as I showed above for my 5 pawns. They are all dignified/artistic too.
Being dignified means their meditation type involves sitting on their throne.
Being artistic means meditating in front of an impressive piece of artwork if you have placed a meditation spot there for them to use. The better the artwork, the better the psyfocus gain.
Meditation will also give them some recreation gain too. It has replaced the authority need they used to have.
Therefore, I give my pawns 2 hours per day of recreation, 2 hours of anything, 8 hours of meditation, 8 hours of sleep and 4 hours of work.
Personally, I would'nt care if my highest ranked nobles couldn't work at all, since they are much more useful in combat and by providing inspirational speeches, as well as currying lots of favour with the empire and all that has to offer.

What schedule have you set for your baroness and as for work, what sort of work can she do?

Anyone with the ability to read English that might have an idea as to of why a Baroness would cease all activity of any kind and simply sit on her throne for the remainder of her life?

You keep saying that all she does is sit on her throne...
Stop talking and show us.
Please post a screenshot of her work tab and her schedule as well as her bio.

I already gave you an answer that might be the reason.
It even was in English.

Hmm, is it your experience that people are more helpful when you berate and insult people trying to help you? I would have suspected the opposite, but I am always willing to learn. Let me know how this goes for you.

I mean the person has said the same thing over and over. They just sit there and meditate no matter what. It's not a work tab or hours tab thing, he's frustrated because his baroness WILL ONLY MEDITATE NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES. I think two people reiterating someone's frustrated point might clear it up. HE DOESN'T KNOW WHY SHE'S ONLY MEDITATING AFTER BECOMING A BARONESS AT WHICH POINT SHE WON'T STOP MEDITATING.

Well enough I am afraid, cause I will now give him the correct answer despite his attitude.

@OP, from the wiki:

Incapable of: Cleaning, Haul, Plant cut, Grow, Mining, Cook, Construct, Smith, Handle, Tailor, Craft.

https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Titles

That basically leaves:
Firefight, Patient, Doctor, Bed Rest, Basic, Warden, Hunt, Art, Research

But that only is true if they have the above mentioned 3 traits, abrasive, greedy, jealous. So that has to be going on here.

You are perhaps aware that nobody here is being paid to solve his problems, right? Everyone on this thread was doing their best to explain what might be wrong.

So if it isn't the scheduling, it is probably the traits. If it isn't either, it could be the work tab. If it isn't any of those, it is probably a mod conflict, but I doubt that, because if the problem only began at countess, I don't think there are any mods that interact with the titles system yet.

Anyway, nobody here has had a problem helping, however when you are getting free help from strangers, it is generally a good idea to be polite.
