Help choosing a fun start
I want to try out new dlc and all other new intersting stuff (bought dlc at launch like a monkey, but didn't play it at all), and so i am wondering what start to choose. I find the default crashlanded start to be boring, becaue i like challenge, but "start with nothing" scenario always boils down to doing exact same things every playthrough. So i was wondering if someone can recommend me an interesting start.
*sorry for possible spelling erorrs, english is not my first language

If you can't think of anything, try going to the workshop. Then filter on both "Scenarios" and "1.1"

You could either pick one of those, or possibly just get an inspiration from one of them and create your own.

technically, all kind of start playthrough will boil down to doing the same thing all the time unless you start with (a) random pawn(s). By far playing with bad pawns is the hardest challenge I have played in this game. A strong ascetic cannibal industrious survivalist can brace sea ice easily, but a bunch of whiners will break even if they live in heaven.

Tribal is start is quite interesting with the new dlc, basically you can now rp as a jedi temple and have all your tribal pawns become psycasters. Use scenario editor to reduce your initial pawns for extra challenge.

What I'd recommend is doing a start you're familiar with, that isn't going to be too challenging. Learn the mechanics and get an idea of what you'll be trying to do. Then move on to a second new game where you're able to combine the skills you learnt from the base game, with the practices you'll be using for the expansion content, with the extra challenge you're looking for. :-)

If your looking for something different look up the crash landing mod. It makes the start of the crashlanding scenario alot more dramatic and random. Feels like a true crash landing to me.

I haven't played with that mod in a long time! (I think like alpha13 which is pre-Steam) I really did to go back to that one, it was a lot of fun at the beginning. Just pure chaos!

Thanks for the relpies! I think i will try tribal start first because it's vanilla + i could explore funky tree mechanics. When i am comfortable with everything the dlc brought i will try out the crashlanded mod, it sounds fun!

A little while back I did a rich explorer with the limitation that I had to move 10+ hexes and settle in a new biome every year. Really changed how I played without adding new mechanics from scenarios.
