Priority build?
Is there any sort of priority build system in RimWorld?

It's a heat wave and I want them to concentrate on the cooling units (that the game tells me I have enough resources for) but they do other things and I can't seem to find a way to tell them to concentrate on building that A/C unit (or for that matter, build that wall to finish enclosing the stockpile, or anything else that I want them to do).

Thanks

Left click person
Right click object
Click the 'prioritise' button

Works for every task in the game from taming to cooking.

Or if there is a bunch to do...

Select the things you DON'T want them to build and then forbid them.

Thank you both.

I sure wish it had an easier way, like a priority button that allows you to either click or drag on items to have them be priority for whatever pawn is capable of doing the job, but I guess this will do.

It's pretty common for one project to be critical, and you have to jump through some hoops to prioritize it. Generally forbidding things isn't enough, you have to constantly use "prioritize this task" because there are so many non-construction tasks.

I've avoided Spacial Priorities because the description says that it's not stable yet.

Also if you have a heat wave switch everyone's sleep schedules to be asleep during the day. I just use the Night Owl trait setup with 11-18 hours as sleep. This helps make it where your colonists are in much more heat manageable rooms during the worst of it so that it is easier when they do leave their rooms.

Does the temperature drop at night? If so a night owl setup would be great!

Oh yeah temperature varies for sure between rooms, time of day, how often doors are opened, etc changes temperature.
