Making Stone Bricks?? What Profession is that leveling
I can't seem to find it anywhere, I thought maybe construction, but nothing goes up when they are gathering and crafting stone bricks. Is it a wasted effort in that sense, I mean I get it we get bricks from it but is NOTHING improving with all that time.

It used to level crafting but currently it levels nothing, You would need a mod to restore it giving a very small amount to crafting skill

I've noticed this but does this also mean that everyone is supposed to craft these at the same speed?

I forget exactly what it is, but if you look in the pawns info screen (select pawn, then hit the i in pawn's window in lower left), you can find their work speed in the list in the left window and then all the things that contribute to that will be laid out in the right window.

It be nice if you could select to have one of your garbage crafters JUST focus on stone bricks (normally I set them to NOT craft) and let the higher level crafters focus on the more important items.

Can't you make a bill to make stone blocks and have the skill range set to like 0-2? That way only crap people make them and anyone with greater then 2 skill are prohibited from making them

Yes, you can assign specific people to do the job if you want. IIRC It just uses general labor. So the speed is affected by things like manipulation, global work speed, sight etc. They should all do it about the same speed unless they have things like bionics or damaged limbs affecting those stats. I don't think it increases skill in anything unless that has changed.

I use Fluffy's WorkTab mod to do the prioritization of blocks. Because cutting stone blocks is one of the sub jobs it is easy to raise just that specific priority.

You can do something similar with a cook too. If I have a cooking pawn that is lvl 9 or better (which means you only have a base 0.1% chance of cooking a poison meal) and want to eventually have another high level cooking: I setup cooking meals for lvl 9-20, then setup butchering to lvl 0-9. This is a slow but safe way to train a cook. Even getting them to lvl 7 cooking (0.25%) or lvl 6 cooking (0.5%) is much better then training them on simple meals.

Note: I think doing this will mean butchering will be slower on lower level pawns, it also means slightly less meat. Therefore I only do this when I have lots of animals to butcher or i really need another chef soon.
