Purpose of trading with tribe settlements

I normally trade with Outlanders and the Empire. Is there any reason to trade with tribes? I assume they just have low tech things like blocks and weak weapons and such.

I've noticed humans for sale seem to appear less frequently the longer the game lasts, particularly in nearby towns. Traveling to a town that's further away you might luck into one but it's unusual. I try to save up and buy an extra colonist within the first couple years cause I don't really expect to see them much after that.

They also always sell pemmican, which is much cheaper than any of the ready-to-eat food types you might get at an outlander town. That can be valuable to pick up in an emergency, like if you've got a caravan that's low on food or your colony's dealing with a temporary food shortage for one reason or another.

If I'm low on food over winter or during a spell of toxic fallout I stock up on meat from a nearby tribal colony.

Also a great strategy. Lol since I'm usually tribal myself and half the time don't have a fridge to put it in, pemmican tends to be a better buy than meat cause it won't spoil.

haul a caravan over to dump all your crappy clothing / weapons and trade for MEAT / metals and exotic items such as Anima Stone. they'd love some normal/poor assault rifles over their muskets im sure :)
for endgame just call a Shaman trader over, they always carry 1 or both Psy shock / insanity lance, and plasteel. buy out his entire stock with packaged meal and sculptures, or whatever crap you got hoarded.
