Did my Granite suddenly change to Slate with my Deep Drill?
I have been playing my current colony for a while now, and I sort of rely on my Deep Drill pulling up granite to keep my walls fixed up and to build new ones. But suddenly, like sometime in the past few days, all the places I knew to set my drill to get granite displays Slate as being under the drill. Slate was never a stone type in the area that I am in, it has always been marble, granite, and sometimes sandstone.
I have now placed the drill at a few dozen random spots to try and find new granite areas, but it always comes up as marble, sandstone...and slate.
Did something change in stone types and what can be found, or with the deep drill? I have no mods that should affect either of these things.

You can get multiple? I thought I read in a recent patchlog that deep drills can now only get one stone type per map, that is predetermined upon generation.

I have been pulling up marble and granite for a while now, ever since it started giving me notices when the scanned material ran out. I would sit one drill above the marble stone and another at granite until I had enough blocks made of each and I was satisfied, then move them to steel, plasteel, or uranium as needed, only to move them back when I ran out of blocks.
Even now, with this issue I am having, I can still find marble, sandstone, and slate.

I just checked my own game after reading this, and my 3 slate drills has turned into 2 limestone and 1 marble drill.
The 3 marble drills i had is still the same though.

And my map was only slate and marble from the start.

That's really interesting.

Well, it certainly is odd. Guess I'm switching to slate...

Can you check your region again? Maybe there was a change in the game where your maps rock types have changed?

Actually that is what prompted me to say I'll have to switch to slate. For some reason granite was changed to slate for the tile. It is rather annoying honestly, but not game breaking I guess. I had already phased out the granite spiketraps and such. But still, now I'm going to have to pay close attention to walls to see if they are damaged from attacks, because they will no longer be automatically repaired due to lack of granite blocks. Ah well.

Should have kept my mouth shut. A granite meteorite just crash landed, and almost crushed some animals I would rather not have crushed.

That will teach you!

You want granite? Have a few tons of granite at terminal velocity!
