removing incababilities
Im looking though the save file data and i cant find specific incababilities for my survivors, so "incapable of hauling" for example. im wondering if im just blind or if there is a way to find them and change them.

yeah ive seen that but unfortunatly it doesnt have an effect on survivors that were alive before the mod was installed.

Agreed, I like the idea of adpating to a situation. "Ew, I don't like cleaning that's beneath me." Ok, Die of infection while rolling in a pile of puke.

The inability to do certain tasks is determined by what they were in their childhood and adulthood. For instance an 18-year-old who only has a childhood of a war refugee will be incapable of violence, those with noble backgrounds will not be able to do dumb labor. So essentially if you want to change the inabilities you need to change what they did in their background childhood and adulthood. If anyone finds a compiled list of what each background does let me know.

Guess someone googled it.

And because something like this gets asked so rarely that bringing it up again is probably the next best thing to making a new thread - especially if you didn't actually check the date. I've done that a few times myself with hyper-rare questions. It's necroing answered issues or more common ones that we should get annoyed about, really.

OP should mark an answer, so new readers see that and don't necro.

Cliff Notes answer: there's no specific line in the save file to add an incapability. Incapabilities are added by a pawn's backstory. In order to remove an incapability, you have to change his backstory. (the only exception I'm aware of, is pyromaniacs)

There was literally NO answer to this in 2016. There have been MANY updates to the game since and I suspect other people may have already figured this out in the mean time. if you are looking for an answer then I have none. If anyone has an answer then feel free to post it. But i would advise you to find a more up to date source of information or start a new thread somewhere else in discussions.

There isn't a way to remove capabilities without a mod, So yes there was an answer and I gave it 5 years ago.
The new mod that does this is More Then Capable.

It converts "Can't Do" tasks into "Hated" tasks. So you can technically assign them do to those jobs, but they'll suffer a mod penalty that gets bigger the longer they're doing a hated job. EG, characters with a backstory like Noble, will not want to do menial labor like hauling and cleaning, but if you were in an emergency, say toxic fallout was about to make all your food sitting outdoors waiting for someone to get around to hauling it to rotten, you could have that character assigned to haul for a short while to rescue your colony's food harvest. Just remember to that prissy noble off hauling as soon as the emergency's past.

Incase if anyone is playing with no mods; the only way to removing incababilities is by changing their adulthood/childhood backstory with Dev mode. Ex- one of my pawn is incapable of handling due to their childhood. Dev mode, change it to anything you want, once you've changed it. restart the game and ur good
