Bison vs Muffalo

So looking at the stats for both, as far as I can tell they are basically a brown and white version of the same thing. They haul at the same rate, their fur has the same insulation, etc.

Am I correct in this or have I missed something? Just I normally go for muffalos but my current run through has me stuck with the bisons and I'm wondering if I should keep them or swap them out when I can.

Bison is faster than a baseline human (5.00) meanwhile a Muffalo is slower (4.50) than a baseline human. That's the only difference from me right now.

So in this case, a Bison won't slow down a caravan as a Muffalo would do.

Bisons requires double the nutrition value from your colony/biome, moves faster, and as pack-carrier is only a little less than muffalos. Depends on if you need them as emergency pack I suppose. Rarely considered, but Bison is good defensive unit, because of their speed 4.70 (sloths are 4.80).

I'm not too fussed in how much they eat - so it looks like the bison might be superior to my much loved muffalo (apart from the poo-brown colour of the clothes that get made from its fur)?

Lol, the poo-brown colour is also slightly less insulating than the beloved blue.

I think I'll go back to the muffalo, I just don't like the look and sound of the bison.

First game I played after the patch, and muffalos didn't give me milk, but bison did. Is that a change?
