How to kill lots of Centipedes in Vanilla easily:

1. Equip your colonists with all frag grenades and one of them with EMP grenades.
2. Build a kill box that will force the centipedes into the range of your grenades.
3. Equip each colonist with a smokepop belt. The smoke will keep them safe from the heavy charge blasters without affecting the accuracy of the grenades.
4. Have extra smokepop belts close by so the colonists can keep using smoke.
5. Build autocannon turrets such that the centipedes are within their optimal range and their lines of fire are perpendicular to the colonists'. Autocannons are effective against centipedes and they help take more fire off your colonists. Only a few are needed.

That's pretty much it. The smoke, EMP grenades, and autocannons all increase your colonists' survivability dramatically while the frag grenades let you apply damage to many centipedes at once. While the grenades do indeed destroy the recyclable mechanoid corpses, the resources lost may often be less than the cost of using and rearming the many, many turrets used in traditional killboxes.

Protection from fire:
Build a back wall onto your killbox with steel autodoors. Create a zone that is behind this back wall and install firefoam poppers there. Before the fight, restrict your colonists to this zone. When they catch fire, they will only flee to places that are within their restricted zone i.e. out of harm's way and near firefoam poppers.

In my own testing, I have been able to kill 12 centipedes using only five colonists and four autocannons. Each time, only two or three of the colonists sustain minor damage, and the 12 centipedes all die before the autocannons run out of ammunition.

Or have Expanded Turrets mods and place down 6 to 12 MK19 Sentries together, even if they're together Centidepe will die before it can shoot.

or go into the dev mode and delete centipedes, save yourself some resources and time wasted fighting them.

known fact, they have very low blunt armor and low melee damage. And their aiming time. You can just use an AUTOPISTOL to kill a single Centidepe. By shooting it behind a wall, before it shoots, go back. Now it will be calculating a path to you for a second. Then approach to your shooting spot, shoot it and cycle until it dies. No requirement to go for a melee and get blunt damage on your pawn.
