Can't install prosthesis
I have a pawn who has a "destroyed" leg, not shot off, not scarred, no gunshot, just "destroyed". I can't install a prosthesis on her. Even made her a bionic one, but cannot install it. I can install it on all other pawns but not her, so the only exclusion criterion has to be the "destroyed" limb. Do i oversee something here? Can this be cured?

PS: So i tried everything. I use the EPOE mod and wanted to install a foot. Not possible. Installing a simple leg prosthesis to afterwards add the foot? Not possible. Somethings damaged and it seems unfixable. Please help, i need to repair my bionic super soldier, it was really expensive to get her that way.

The "cutoff" on the screenshot comes from installing and uninstalling the leg prosthesis. It started with a "destroyed" leg.

Is there a way to edit save games if this can't be fixed ingame? I won't tolerate this status.

The destroyed leg was a normal leg or an artificial one. If it is an artificial leg, you may need to remove the old one before installing a new one. I never get an artificial leg destroyed so I don't know for sure.

The leg was normal and the foot was advanced bionic. As in the mod, you can either choose to use arm or hand and leg or foot.

Ok here is the workaround:

1. Download and run Rimworld Save Game Editor[bitbucket.org]
2. Load your save and choose the pawn with the problem
3. Search the injury list for the limb you want to replace/ have problems with and delete ALL the entries with "MissingBodyPart" - your specific limb, i.e. MissingBodyPart - left little toe, MissingBodyPart - left fourth toe etc etc.
4. Save the edited savegame and close the editor. Run the game and load the save.
5. Check your colonist if everything worked out

For me this fixed my problem. After editing the save, by some "miracle" her leg was restored so i could again replace it with the adcanced bionic limb. Stupid you have to go this way. I guess when installing a bionic limb, some variables get set which are still set after violent removal of the limb, so the game "thinks" it's still there when it isn't and thus forbidding to add yet another limb. Whatever it is, it sucks.

I DONT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR RUINED SAVES. MAKE BACKUPS.

Why not just install a leg then...?
MasterJB Feb 28, 2019 @ 2:51am
Yeah, why not? I thought hand/feet would have higher manipulation values, but it's not the case. Guess you can just leave it as that.
FYI you don't replace legs with feet. That is what you were trying to do, as the leg is missing you have to install a new leg.

As far as the game is concerned destroyed is a synonym for shot off/removed/missing/bitten off and the difference is based on damage type that did the final point of damage.

Like the Khan says, you cannot install a foot if they don't have a leg. You kind of need a leg to install the foot on, because just holding a foot is not going to help them move around.

TL;DR: Install a leg.

Also I am not 100% sure but I think all bionic/replacement parts like arms legs come as one entire limb, so when you install a bionic leg you also install the foot.

This may have helped me with a similar problem trying to install an arm... I’ll know soon enough

Thanks for your answers but they show that you didn't read the posts carefully. I said it was NOT possible to add a foot to a newly implanted leg. I don't get why vanilla game or the mod adds feet and hands in the first place when they're redundant and bug/ glitch inducing.

Whatever, this workaround can help with all kind of limb related problems, not just mine.

Best regards.

There's no bug or glitch. You can't install a foot on a missing leg as you showed in your screen, and you can't install a foot onto an artificial leg because the leg includes the foot already as Xan mentioned. The bionic leg has better stats and essentially the same cost so there is zero point or reason to ever install a bionic foot, which is why they aren't a base game item, they are added by a mod, just for RP purposes.
