Flickering unplayable with new monitor
I had been playing Rimworld, I got a new 1440p 144hz monitor now when Ioad a save game the menus all flicker rapidly in the lower left and I cannot open the menu button., I have to close the task to exit the game. What is going on here? I tried setting the in game res back to 1080p but no luck.

Edit: Turned off all mods set to 1080p windowed mode and lowered the screen refresh to 60hz started a new game the issue still persists. Continues to do it when i move the window to my stock 1080p monitor

Sounds like a driver issue...

Have you updated recently?

Double-check if your monitor has a driver (from a CD or manufacturer's website) and that the latest version is installed. If it is, try reinstalling just in case - check for a "repair driver" option perhaps.

Yeah the monitor is brand new and I have had some hardware conflict issues but thought I had them worked out. I do have the latest nvidia drivers
Does the monitor advertise anything called "GSync", or "FreeSync"?

Rimworld has some issues with graphics settings not taking effect for unknown reasons so you might want to try editing/deleting the config files directly.

Btw, if there is a single game that doesn't work in your library then my money would not be on driver issues or faulty hardware being the cause but hey, why not buy a new computer to make sure that it's not the hardware? Tynan can't possibly have done anything wrong.

I did find a driver for my monitor and installed that , reinstalled the game and removed all the mods still doesnt work , the graph and statistics screen rapidly displays flickering. ESC does not work. I can see the colonists etc moving in the background. This is a Gsync monitor.

Just disable g-sync.
Divinehammer Feb 8, 2019 @ 6:50am
I disabled Gsync on the monitor and nothing changed still the same issue.

Did you disable gsynch in your video driver?
(i've never had a screen that supports it, so....)

Thanks yeah I tried it dsabled and enabled but no change. I contacted the monitor support they are saying I need to setup my 1070 differently but I have installed the drivers and setup everything in the nvvidia control panel correctly. I think they are just deflecting.

Disabling freesync fixed my issue. Why is it always the posts from 3 years ago that always fix the most problems?

Sounds to me like the problem isn't that common so you're not gonna find many recent posts on it.

I think he means that most problems with anything, are usually fixed by threads that are years old and people don’t create new ones because they find the old threads. People who don’t look for a solution will tend to make a new thread

Yeah the GSync/ FreeSync flickering on some games... Battle Brothers too... is unfortunately widespread.
